High School Activities

National Honor Society
In keeping with its mission and philosophy and their emphasis on educating the whole student, NIS has created a school Honor Society to motivate all students and to reward those who have excelled academically, in addition to demonstrating exemplary character, leadership skills and participation in service to the school and/or the wider community.

HS Activities
HS students are encouraged to participate in the school’s many activities. These are organized and managed by NIS teachers and includes activities, such as:

  • Fundraising events, organized by the High School Student Council
  • Charity drives; locally and internationally
  • Sports events and tournaments, locally, regionally and internationally

HS Educational Trips
HS teachers often arrange educational fieldtrips for their students with the aim of enhancing the material, taught in class.

Grade 11 and 12 Italy Trip
Thirty of our Grade 11 and 12 students, accompanied by their teachers, embarked on a 10 day educational trio to Italy.  The trip involved visiting different scenic and historical places in Rome, Venice and Milan.  Viewing the famous sights such as the Colosseum, the Forum and Capital in Rome, as well as our excursion to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, visits to Venice and Milan; broadened the student’s experience and extended their vision of the world and its cultures.
